Yes — downloading and everyday bill splitting are free, including AI receipt scanning with a daily allowance. SPLIIT Pro (subscription) adds unlimited scans and full history.

Do my friends need the app too?

No. You split the bill in your app and share an itemized breakdown as a message. They just read what they owe and pay you back however you normally settle up.

What receipts can it scan?

Printed restaurant checks, delivery summaries, grocery receipts, even long or crumpled ones — in any currency. You can always edit items by hand after scanning.

How is tax and service fee split?

Proportionally to what each person ordered, calculated to the cent. Shared items can be split across any subset of the group with one tap.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?
