How do you split a restaurant bill when one person did not drink?
Put the drinks on the people who had them instead of dividing the total. On a bill with two shared bottles, that is usually the difference between a fair number and a non-drinker quietly paying a quarter of the wine.
How do you handle a starter that everybody shared?
Assign the one line to everyone who ate it and it divides between exactly those people. A plate shared by three of six costs those three a third each, rather than being spread across the whole table.
Can I split the tip separately from the food?
The tip spreads in proportion to what each person ordered, which is the usual expectation when one order is twice another. If your table prefers a flat amount per head, enter it as its own line assigned to everyone.
Does everyone at the table need the app to see their share?
No. One person photographs the check and sends the breakdown to the group chat. Everyone else reads an ordinary message showing their items and their total. Nothing to install while the table waits.
What if the restaurant already split the bill onto two cards?
Photograph both. Up to five receipts merge into one split, so a table that ran drinks on a separate tab still reconciles to a single set of per-person numbers rather than two half-answers.
