Most splitting apps ask you for a total and a set of shares. This one starts from the receipt itself, works out each line, and gives you numbers you did not have to estimate.
How it works
Snap a photo — crumpled, long, handwritten, in any currency. The AI pulls out every line item, tax, and service fee in a couple of seconds.
Long-press a friend’s chip and drop it on what they ordered. Shared appetizer? Tap "Split All" and it divides fairly, tax and fees included.
Everyone gets an itemized total — down to their share of the tax. Send it by WhatsApp, iMessage, or anything else. No app needed on their end.
The difference in practice
Share-based splitting asks what fraction each person owes, which means guessing. Item-based splitting reads the line and assigns it. Same bill, and the gap between the two is real money.
The brunch bill
Total$131.04
By item, not by percentage
Splitting five ways gives everyone $26.21. Eli pays $6.05 more than he ordered, and Dev pays $7.18 less. The itemised shares add back to $131.04.
Why SPLIIT Pro
Not a manual expense form. Point the camera at the bill and items appear — up to 5 receipts per split for big group orders.
Tax, tip, and service fees split proportionally to what each person actually ordered. Nobody subsidizes the lobster.
Open the app and split. Your friends don’t need to install anything to get their totals.
Itemized summaries travel as plain text — WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, email.
Everyday splitting costs nothing. Go Pro for unlimited scans and history.
What changes
Photograph the receipt instead of typing a total and dividing it. The lines come from the paper.
The people you split with do not create accounts or join a group. They get a text with their number.
They spread in proportion to what each person had, rather than being divided by head on top of uneven food.
For a table that will never eat together again, a permanent shared ledger is more setup than the problem needs.
Switching
No, and that is a genuine limitation. Balances do not transfer. The practical approach is to settle up where you are, then start new splits here. Groups with a long running ledger are the hardest case for switching.
No. They receive an itemised message showing what they owe and why, in whatever chat you already use. They never install anything or create an account, which is usually the part that stalls a group move.
On a bill where everyone ordered roughly the same thing, very little. The difference shows up when one person has three drinks and another has soup, which is when an even split quietly overcharges the lighter order.
No. SPLIIT Pro does not maintain a rolling balance across bills. Pro unlocks full scan history, but it is not a synchronized long-term group ledger.
The current free limit can change. Pro unlocks unlimited people. Each split can include up to five receipts, so a large event may still be easier to handle as several splits.
Free to start, no account, and nothing to migrate to find out whether it suits your group.
