Split an Annual Subscription Paid Upfront
Distinguish the provider’s annual charge from any monthly reimbursement agreement.
Distinguish the provider’s annual charge from any monthly reimbursement agreement. Monthly repayments between members do not turn an annual purchase into a monthly cancelable plan.
Confirm eligible members and the period they committed to fund. Decide in advance how departure or an actual provider refund changes their contribution. Preserve the original annual receipt. Record repayments when received rather than assuming all twelve future payments are guaranteed.
Worked example
A fictional permitted annual plan costs 120 units for three members. Equal commitments are 40 each. If A pays the provider, B and C each owe A 40. An agreed four-part reimbursement would be 10 per installment for each of them, still totaling 40 each.
| Allocation | Amount |
|---|---|
| A | 40.00 |
| B | 40.00 |
| C | 40.00 |
| Total | 120.00 |
Record the result
Agree the rule first, then enter the calculated amounts and actual payer in SPLIIT Pro. Assign each amount to the relevant people and review the total before sharing the breakdown. The private expense group keeps related bills and recorded partial repayments together. Friends can read shared breakdowns without installing the app; they do not edit your group. Transfer money through another method and record repayment only after it arrives.
These are illustrative units, not current prices. Use the actual bill, currency and agreement; the calculation is explained here, not promised as an automatic feature. Scanning needs a connection and review. The app is free to start with usage limits; Pro adds capacity and removes ads.
Frequently asked questions
Can SPLIIT Pro automatically collect monthly reimbursements?
No. Enter the provider charge and agreed shares manually, and record actual repayments after they arrive through another method. Automatic collection, reminders tied to billing cycles and provider subscription management are not promised.
